WHAT IS CAMP?
Summer Camps are a rich tradition throughout North America, seen by many as central to the personal development of young people for the past 100 years. Beyond providing specialized, rustic and fun social learning environments for kids, camps provide intentional outdoor and experiential learning, engraining values into every aspect of the experience so that kids can build and grow their potential individually and as a member of a close-knit community.
CCUSA has selected a diverse range of camps with varied offerings, length of sessions, fees, and specialties. Camps are located in the United States and Canada with programs ranging from 2- 8 weeks for kids aged 7-17, groups and teams of all kinds, as well as for families.
    - Camps are typically located in remote and rustic areas, often along pristine lakes and woods or mountains. The natural landscape contributes to the idyllic, peaceful atmosphere.
- Camp sessions are as short as 1 week and as long as 8 weeks in length, where no day is typical and campers progress in their involvement with a range of fun activities and skills from sports and arts, to waterfront and wilderness activities.
- Campers usually live in rustic cabins/ bunks among their age group, learning and contributing together through a variety of fun activities from sunrise until bedtime.
- Some camps serve all-girls, some all-boys, and some are co-ed with girls and boys sleeping in separate units.
- Camps are directed by lifelong youth professionals, educators, and social workers. Campers are supervised and taught daily by qualified, experience, educated and skilled counselors, typically ranging from 19-25 years old.
- Camp is a tech-free zone where kids can unplug, but connect personally with one another.
- CUSA can also assist families in finding camps that serve children with special needs, or offer highly specialized programs for specific circumstances. Please contact a family consultant for more information.
